STATUS
- Currently have a simple prototype that was used to test different play ideas. Now it's time to enhance the prototype and show some levels that would represent well the final play. Once the gameplay demo is complete and tuned, the design will largely be set in stone for the final product. This will allow the project to continue on to lining up an artist and sfx/musician.
TODO
- Create three (or more) maps and set difficulty accordingly. We need to playtest level design. Once we can settle on our maps, this will be the complete gameplay demo. As part of creating the gameplay demo, we need to address some issues:
- Timer
- Add timer
- Adjust time available on each level appropriately
- Reward player for time left on clock once they've hit their scoring goal for the level
- Levels
- Prototype a variety of level designs and then settle on at least three levels for the demo
- Create three levels, one for simple, medium, and hard difficulties
- Add buttons for each level so we can easily jump between them
- Tokens
- Should appear rarely
- Should not be a piece, but like Buggers should appear hovering over the piece
- Multipliers
- Adjust how often these show up.
- We should limit them to x2 and x5 and remove x3 altogether. It will be easier for the player to pick up a couple of different multipliers at a glance once the timer is in.
- Buggers
- Add Speedy Buggers that move two spaces each turn
- Add a 3-shot Bugger
- Adjust distribution based on what is on board currently.
- Adjust distribution such that they show up on their own, not based on new pieces arriving in play.
- Pieces
- Adjust distribution of colorless pieces.
- Consider addition of sixth color or possibly even seventh for one of the levels.
